Vendors

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The 2017 Fondren’s First Thursday series of events will differ from the past 3 years pertaining to vending opportunities due to the local takeovers that are scheduled. We love our local vendors and we love them even more when they read the following information before inquiry of submitting applications.

ELIGIBLE VENDORS

Photographers – please no nudes due to our family event status

Handmade tee shirt designers – all original designs printed by the artist only

Locally produced items – example: furniture, beard products, Fondren merchant pop-up shops / food

Food trucks approved through Ms Foodtruck Assoc. – limited / curated – *sponsor buy-in required

Non-profit 501c3’s that are community platformed (vs socially controversial)

INELIGIBLE VENDORS

*the list of ineligible vendors is generally comprised to avoiding conflicts of interest / direct competition to Fondren merchants, or for any vendor request that might fall into such as: religions, social or political activism in any form.

Jewelry

Crafts such as: modified picture frames, quilts, painted wood cutouts, decorative bottles, crotchet

Political campaigning – hand outs, leaflets on cars, verbal presentation, free items as promotion

Legalization of any item

Promotion of religious/sacrilegious views

Multilevel marketing – example: Plexus, Amway, Mary Kay…

Food vendors: baked goods, outside catering setups

Southern charm items: bows, ribbons, bedazzled items, hearts, butterflies, decorative wood items, tees

Licensed items such as: college branded products, copyrighted materials, comic branded items

Controversial items such as sex-related paraphernalia, gun paraphernalia, flags, etc.

Resale items for profit / clearance – example: sunglasses, drinks, toys, trinkets, carnival related items

Health and beauty products – example: custom nails, lotions, vitamins, makeup, soaps

NO FLYER, BUSINESS CARD OR HANDBILL DISTRIBUTION WHATSOEVER

In general – if you want to place something here that will likely offend a family-oriented crowd, we prefer to err on the side of caution vs create a stir in order for simply making a statement that could be at the expense of the event.
